Wills

2/3rds of the adult population will die without a Will which can cause extra stress for their loved ones at an already emotional time and mean additional expense for their estate.

Why you need a Will

Making a Will means that you will decide what happens to your assets after you die, giving your family the certainty of knowing that you have thought about their future. They are not expensive documents to prepare and can save loved ones a great deal of stress.

Around two thirds of adults currently do not have a Will in the UK and many people do not know the implications of intestacy (dying without a Will), believing that all assets will automatically pass to a surviving spouse or an unmarried partner.

Many do not realise the true value of their estate, failing to recognise the value of their pensions, property and life insurances.

What can go into a Will?

Examples of the many applications of a Will are as follows:

A Will will ensure that your money will go to the people that you choose and your estate is administered by the people (your Executors) of your choosing.

Do I need a Lawyer to make a Will?

While you can make a ‘homemade’ Will, many homemade Wills result in far more complications because they have not been prepared correctly.

The errors will only become apparent once the Will goes to Probate, resulting in more stress and expense for the family and Executors administering the estate.  The increased cost of sorting out the problems are often far greater than instructing a professional.
