We offer a fixed price service depending on the amount of work required which includes free home visits and we do not charge VAT.

Below is a sample of our pricing for an average sized estate below the Inheritance Tax threshold of £325,000.

Estate Administration – What’s included in the Price?

Where a client asks us to administer an estate, the following is included in our fixed fee prices:

For our fees of £5,000 (no IHT payable and 5 assets or less including a house).

We will do the following work:

  • Register the death and value the assets and liabilities
  • Pay the funeral account from the bank account (if appropriate)
  • Notify other relevant institutions as relevant of the death
  • Complete an Unclaimed Assets Register Search if necessary
  • Complete the necessary paperwork for the Grant
  • Place an advert in the newspaper for creditors (if required)
  • Notify Beneficiaries of entitlement and confirm identity
  • Collect in the assets
  • Discharge liabilities
  • Distribute the estate, including preparation of estate accounts

Disbursements in addition to this fee:

  • Probate application fee of £155 (due to change)
  • £200 (estimate) for an advert in The London Gazette and in a Local Newspaper – this helps to protect against unexpected claims from unknown creditors.
  • £25 Unclaimed Assets Register Search – to search for unknown assets.

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.
